The Southern Caribbean can be considered the least known part of the Caribbean as it is farther away from the West and East Caribbean regions. However, this road less travelled has recently become more interesting as a cruise destination with its gorgeous scenery and natural beauty. It is full of unspoiled beauty as well as exotic animal species that are distinct to that region. The exotic Islands in the Southern Caribbean are Aruba, Curacao, St. Barth’s, Barbados, St. Lucia and Dominica among others. The region can be considered diverse as it is infused with native and Dutch culture. Each of these Islands has something unique to it that it offers as a cruise destination. Aruba and Antigua’s beaches are very appealing, while Guadeloupe and St Lucia are the scenic options of the region. They have rainforests, volcanoes and a reflection of French and West Indian heritages in their urban outposts. Curacao and Bonaire are influenced greatly by the Dutch and it is one of the best places to go for scuba diving and snorkelling. St. Barth's will make you feel like you are in France, it has elite boutiques, lovely gourmet restaurants, sidewalk cafes as well as beach scenes that are trendy and hot. The undeveloped island has its own unique appeals. It has a laid back small town vibe that is so genuine. The Islands as a whole offers limited modern day distractions and a distinct slow pace of living. Entertainment is mostly centred on the beach, pools or bars. Nothing compares to the spectacular Southern Caribbean sunset that can be seen in Aruba. The wispy clouds change colours in the endless warm skies. Giving you some form of calmness that you have never experienced with a sunset.
